Foreword
Quran repeatedly talks about Al-Ma'rûf, all that Islâm orders one to do and Al-Munkar, all that Islâm has forbidden. These dos and don’ts are the fundamental and essential parts of Islamic teachings, which have been made mandatory for our daily lives. As Allah says in chapter Al-e-Imran-104; ‘Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good in Islâm, enjoining Al-Ma'rûf and forbidding Al-Munkar.’ And He intends His expectations from us in chapter Al-Hajj-41: ‘If We give them power in the land, they enjoin Salât, pay the Zakât, enjoin Al-Ma’rûf, and forbid Al-Munkar.’ Muslims’ uniqueness in the sight of Allah is mentioned in chapter Al-Tawbah-71; ‘The believers, men and women, are supporters of one another. They enjoin Al-Ma‘rûf, and forbid from Al-Munkar.’
Allah has created death and life, so that He may test you as to which of you is better in his deeds (Al-Mulk-2). Every soul has to taste death. It is on the Day of Judgment that you shall be paid your rewards in full. So, whoever has been kept away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has really succeeded. The worldly life is nothing but an illusionary enjoyment (Al-E-Imran-185).
Our routine life must be identical to these enjoined dos and don’ts and we need to correct our activities as and where required. This is the only way to ensure that we can be kept away from the Hell Fire and admitted to Paradise. Death is continuously calling us towards our own grave i.e. either a garden from the gardens of Paradise or a pit from the pits of Hell (Sunan Tirmizi). We need to wake up now, before we slept forever in our graves that may be like a garden of paradise or a pit of Hell for us.
Allah says in Soorat Al-Asr: Man is indeed in a state of loss except those who believed, did righteous deeds, exhorted each other to follow the truth, and exhorted each other to observe patience. Out of these four mandatory criteria, we normally do not practice for exhorting each other to follow the truth of Quran. This book is also providing us a way to fulfill this mandatory requirement. Readers can also take part in this noble cause by reprinting or distributing published books. Digital copy of the book is also available for electronic mail distribution.

About This Book
This book contains almost all such verses or its parts that directly or indirectly deals with the fundamental Islamic teaching of Dos (Al-Ma'rûf) and Don’ts (Al-Munkar), and are applicable to all of us till Day of Resurrection. Original source of each verse is also mentioned, which has made it easier to follow the reference of context. Key words that lead to the central message (Dos and Don’ts) have been written in bold to draw attention for a bird’s-eye view.
This book can be considered as an introduction to ‘The Message of Quran’. The Message of Quran is a topic-wise classification of all the 6236 orderly verses (Ayaat) of the Holy Quran along with additional but related headings on each paragraph. These headings are mentioned in the index of each part as well. The Message of Quran is separated into thirty parts, as the Holy Quran traditionally exists. This separation was intended only so that by reciting a part daily, we can complete the Holy Quran at least once in a month. Verses related to dos and don’ts in The Message of Quran have been written in bold. As The Message of Quran contains only English translation, hence ablution is not necessary to read it. Contrary to the traditional translations, this distinctive format of The Message of Quran makes it more friendly-reading for a common book reader.
Major compilation of the ‘Dos and Don’ts’ is from the English translation by Dr. Mohsin Khan. Few other translations were also referred where further clarifications were required.

Part-3: Tilkar Rosol
Spend of that with which We have provided for you, before a Day comes when there will be no bargaining, nor friendship, nor intercession. Al.Baqarah-254
The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the Way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He pleases. Al.Baqarah-261
Those who spend their wealth in the Cause of Allah, and do not follow up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury, their reward is with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Al.Baqarah-262
Kind words and forgiving of faults are better than Sadaqah (charity) followed by injury. Al.Baqarah-263
Do not render in vain your Sadaqah (charity) by reminders of your generosity or by injury, like him who spends his wealth to be seen of men, and he does not believe in Allah, nor in the Last Day. Al.Baqarah-264
Who spend their wealth seeking Allah’s Pleasure while they in their own selves are sure and certain that Allah will reward them. Al.Baqarah-265
Spend of the good things which you have (legally) earned, and of that which We have produced from the earth for you, and do not aim at that which is bad to spend from it. Al.Baqarah-267
If you disclose your Sadaqat (charity), it is well, but if you conceal it, and give it to the poor, that is better for you. Al.Baqarah-271
Whatever you spend in good, it is for yourselves. it will be repaid to you in full. Al.Baqarah-272
Charity is for the poor, who in Allah’s Cause are restricted from travel, and cannot move about in the land for trade or work. Al.Baqarah-273
Those who spend their wealth (in Allah’s Cause) by night and day, in secret and in public, they shall have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Al.Baqarah-274
Those who eat Riba (usury) will not stand except like the standing of a person beaten by Satan leading him to insanity. So whosoever receives an admonition from his Lord and stops eating Riba (usury) shall not be punished for the past. but whoever returns (to Riba), such are the dwellers of the Fire - they will abide therein. Al.Baqarah-275
Those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and perform Salat, and give Zakat, they will have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Al.Baqarah-277
Be afraid of Allah and give up what remains (due to you) from Riba, if you are (really) believers. Al.Baqarah-278
Deal not unjustly and you shall not be dealt with unjustly. Al.Baqarah-279
If the debtor is in a hard time, then grant him time till it is easy for him to repay, but if you remit it by way of charity, that is better for you. Al.Baqarah-280
When you contract a debt for a fixed period, write it down. Al.Baqarah-282
Get two witnesses out of your own men. If two men are not available then get witness of a man and two women. Baqarah-282
And the witnesses should not refuse when they are called on for evidence. You should not become weary to write it your contract, whether it be small or big, for its fixed term. Al.Baqarah-282
When it is a present trade which you carry out on the spot among yourselves, then there is no sin on you if you do not write it down. But take witnesses whenever you make a commercial contract. Al.Baqarah-282
And if you are on a journey and cannot find a scribe, then let there be a pledge taken (mortgaging). Al.Baqarah-283
If one of you entrust the other, let the one who is entrusted discharge his trust faithfully, and let him be afraid of Allah, Al.Baqarah-283
We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers. We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return of all. Al.Baqarah-285
Those who disbelieve in the Ayat of Allah, for them there is a severe torment. Aale Imran-4
Entirely clear verses of Quran are the foundations of the Book. While others are not entirely clear. So as for those in whose hearts there is a deviation (from the truth) they follow that which is not entirely clear thereof, seeking Fitnah and seeking for its hidden meanings. None knows its hidden meanings except Allah. Aale Imran-7
They are those who are patient ones, those who are true, and obedient with sincere devotion in worship to Allah. Aale Imran-17
Those who disbelieve in the Ayat of Allah and kill the Prophets without right, and kill those men who order just dealings, announce to them a painful torment. Aale Imran-21
Let not the believers take the disbelievers as Auliya (supporters, helpers, etc.) instead of the believers, and whoever does that will never be helped by Allah in any way, except if you indeed fear a danger from them. Aale Imran-28
Obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW)." But if they turn away, then Allah does not like the disbelievers. Aale Imran-32
we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, Aale Imran-64
Yes, whoever fulfils his pledge and fears Allah much; verily, then Allah loves those who are the pious. Aale Imran-76
Verily, those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allahs Covenant and their oaths, they shall have no portion in the Hereafter (Paradise). Aale Imran-77

Take not as your consultants, those outside your religion since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Aale Imran-118

If you obey those who disbelieve, they will send you back on your heels, and you will turn back as losers. Aale Imran-149
Be not like those who disbelieve (hypocrites) and who say to their brethren when they travel through the earth or go out to fight: "If they had stayed with us, they would not have died or been killed," Aale Imran-156
What you suffered (of the disaster) on the day (of the battle of Uhud when) the two armies met, was by the leave of Allah, in order that He might test the believers. Aale Imran-166
Think not of those who are killed in the Way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are alive, with their Lord, and they have provision. Aale Imran-169

Humbling themselves before Allah. They do not sell the Verses of Allah for a little price, for them is a reward with their Lord. Aale Imran-199
Endure and be more patient (than your enemy), and guard your territory by stationing army units permanently at the places from where the enemy can attack you, and fear Allah, so that you may be successful. Aale Imran-200 An-Nisa, The woman
And give unto orphans their property and do not exchange (your) bad things for (their) good ones; and devour not their substance (by adding it) to your substance. Surely, this is a great sin. An-Nisa-2
And if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry (other) women of your choice, two or three, or four but if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one or (the captives and the slaves) that your right hands possess. That is nearer to prevent you from doing injustice. An-Nisa-3
And give to the women (whom you marry) their Mahr with a good heart, but if they, of their own good pleasure, remit any part of it to you, take it, and enjoy it without fear of any harm. An-Nisa-4
give not unto the foolish your property which Allah has made a means of support for you, but feed and clothe them therewith, and speak to them words of kindness and justice. An-Nisa-5
And try orphans until they reach the age of marriage; if then you find sound judgement in them, release their property to them, but consume it not wastefully, and hastily fearing that they should grow up, and whoever amongst guardians is rich, he should take no wages, but if he is poor, let him have for himself what is just and reasonable. An-Nisa-6
And when the relatives and the orphans and AlMasakin (the poor) are present at the time of division, give them out of the property, and speak to them words of kindness and justice. An-Nisa-8
Verily, those who unjustly eat up the property of orphans, they eat up only a fire into their bellies, and they will be burnt in the blazing Fire. An-Nisa-10
Allah commands you as regards your childrens (inheritance); to the male, a portion equal to that of two females; if (there are) only daughters, two or more, their share is two thirds of the inheritance; if only one, her share is half. If the man or woman whose inheritance is in question has left neither ascendants nor descendants, but has left a brother or a sister, each one of the two gets a sixth; but if more than two, they share in a third; after payment of lagacies he (or she) may have bequeathed or debts, so that no loss is caused (to anyone). An-Nisa-12
And whosoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and transgresses His limits, He will cast him into the Fire. An-Nisa-14
And those of your women, who commit illegal sexual intercourse, take the evidence of four witnesses from amongst you against them; and if they testify, confine them to houses until death comes to them or Allah ordains for them some (other) way. An-Nisa-15
And the two persons (man and woman) among you who commit illegal sexual intercourse, punish them both. And if they repent and do righteous good deeds, leave them alone. An-Nisa-16
Allah accepts only the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and foolishness and repent soon afterwards; it is they to whom Allah will forgive. An-Nisa-17
And of no effect is the repentance of those who continue to do evil deeds until death faces one of them and he says: "Now I repent;" nor of those who die while they are disbelievers. An-Nisa-18
You are forbidden to inherit women against their will, and you should not treat them with harshness, that you may take away part of the Mahr you have given them, unless they commit open illegal sexual intercourse. And live with them honorably. If you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing and Allah brings through it a great deal of good. An-Nisa-19
If you intend to replace a wife by another and you have given one of them a great amount as Mahr, take not the least bit of it back. An-Nisa-20
And marry not women whom your fathers married. An-Nisa-22
Forbidden to you (for marriage) are: your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your fathers sisters, your mothers sisters, your brothers daughters, your sisters daughters, your foster mother who gave you suck, your foster milk suckling sisters, your wives mothers, your step daughters under your guardianship, born of your wives to whom you have gone in - but there is no sin on you if you have not gone in them (to marry their daughters), - the wives of your sons who (spring) from your own loins, and two sisters in wedlock at the same time. An-Nisa-23

Part-5: Wal.Mohsenaat
Also (forbidden for marry are) women already married, except those (captives and slaves) whom your right hands possess. An-Nisa-24
Thus has Allah ordained for you. All others are lawful, provided you seek (them in marriage) with Mahr (bridal money) from your property, desiring chastity, not committing illegal sexual intercourse, so with those of whom you have enjoyed sexual relations, give them their Mahr as prescribed. An-Nisa-24
After they (slave-girls) have been taken in wedlock, if they commit illegal sexual intercourse, their punishment is half that for free (unmarried) women. An-Nisa-25
Eat not up your property among yourselves unjustly except it be a trade amongst you, by mutual consent. An-Nisa-29
And do not kill yourselves. An-Nisa-29
31. If you avoid the great sins which you are forbidden to do, We shall remit from you your (small) sins, and admit you to a Noble Entrance (paradise).
And wish not for the things in which Allah has made some of you to excel others. And ask Allah of His Bounty. An-Nisa-32
To those also with whom you have made a pledge (brotherhood), give them their due portion An-Nisa-33
Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other. An-Nisa-34
The righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allah and to their husbands), and guard in the husbands absence what Allah orders them to guard (their chastity, husband’s property, etc.). An-Nisa-34
Women on whose part you see ill conduct, admonish them (first), (then) refuse to share their beds, (and lastly) beat them, but if they return to obedience, seek not against them. An-Nisa-34
If you fear a breach between them twain, appoint arbitrators, one from his family and the other from hers; if they both wish for peace, Allah will cause their reconciliation. An-Nisa-35
Worship Allah and join none with Him in worship. An-Nisa-36
Do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, the poor, the neighbor who is near of kin, the neighbor who is a stranger, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (you meet), and those (slaves) whom your right hands possess. An-Nisa-36
Verily, Allah does not like such as are proud and boastful. Nisa-36
And those who are miserly and enjoin miserliness on other men and hide what Allah has bestowed upon them of His Bounties. Nisa-37
And (also) those who spend of their substance to be seen of men, and believe not in Allah and the Last Day, and whoever takes Satan as an intimate. An-Nisa-38
Approach not AsSalat (the prayer) when you are in a state of Janaba, (sexual impurity), till you wash your whole body. Nisa-43
If you are ill, on a journey or you come after answering the call of nature, or you have been (sexually) contacted with women and you find no water, perform Tayammum with clean earth and rub therewith your faces and hands. An-Nisa-43
Allah is Sufficient as a Walee (Protector), and Allah is Sufficient as a Helper. An-Nisa-45
Whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin. An-Nisa-48
Do they envy men for what Allah has given them of His Bounty? An-Nisa-54
You should render back the trusts to those, to whom they are due; and that when you judge between men, you judge with justice. An-Nisa-58
Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. An-Nisa-59
If you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger (SAW), if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day. An-Nisa-59
We sent no Messenger, but to be obeyed by Allahs Leave. Nisa-64
Take your precautions, and either go forth (on an expedition) in parties, or go forth all together. An-Nisa-71
And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the Cause of Allah and for those weak, ill treated and oppressed among men, women, and children. An-Nisa-75
Fight you against the friends of Satan; ever feeble indeed is the plot of Satan. An-Nisa-76
Whatever of good reaches you, is from Allah, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself. An-Nisa-79
He who obeys the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), has indeed obeyed Allah. An-Nisa-80
Put your trust in Allah. And Allah is Ever All Sufficient as a Disposer of affairs. An-Nisa-81
Whosoever intercedes for a good cause will have the reward thereof, and whosoever intercedes for an evil cause will have a share in its burden. An-Nisa-85
When you are greeted with a greeting, greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) return it equally. An-Nisa-86
They wish that you reject Faith, as they have rejected, and thus that you all become equal. So take not Auliya (protectors or friends) from them. An-Nisa-89
If they withdraw from you, and fight not against you, and offer you peace, then Allah has opened no way for you against them. An-Nisa-90
It is not for a believer to kill a believer except (that it be) by mistake. An-Nisa-92
And whosoever kills a believer by mistake, (it is ordained that) he must set free a believing slave and a compensation (blood money) be given to the deceased’s family, unless they remit it. An-Nisa-92
And if he belonged to a people with whom you have a treaty of mutual alliance, compensation (blood money - Diya) must be paid to his family, and a believing slave must be freed. An-Nisa-92
And whoso finds this (freeing a slave) beyond his means, he must fast for two consecutive months in order to seek repentance from Allah. An-Nisa-92
And whoever kills a believer intentionally; his recompense is Hell to abide therein. An-Nisa-93
He who emigrates in the Cause of Allah, will find on earth many dwelling places and plenty to live by. An-Nisa-100
When you travel in the land, there is no sin on you if you shorten your Salat. An-Nisa-101
Verily, the prayer is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours. An-Nisa-103
Verily, Allah does not like anyone who is a betrayer of his trust, and indulges in crime. An-Nisa-107
And whoever does evil or wrongs himself but afterwards seeks Allahs Forgiveness, he will find Allah OftForgiving, Most Merciful. An-Nisa-110
There is no good in most of their secret talks. An-Nisa-114
Verily! Allah forgives not (the sin of) setting up partners in worship with Him, but He forgives whom he pleases, sins other than that. An-Nisa-116
They invoke nothing but female deities besides Allah, and they invoke nothing but Satan, a persistent rebel! An-Nisa-117
And whoever takes Satan as a Walee (protector or helper) instead of Allah, has surely suffered a manifest loss. An-Nisa-119
Whosoever works evil, will have the recompense thereof. Nisa-123
And whoever does righteous good deeds, male or female, and is a true believer in the Oneness of Allah, such will enter Paradise. An-Nisa-124
You stand firm for justice to orphans. An-Nisa-127
If a woman fears cruelty or desertion on her husbands part, there is no sin on them both if they make terms of peace between themselves; and making peace is better. An-Nisa-128
You will never be able to do perfect justice between wives even if it is your ardent desire, so do not incline too much to one of them so as to leave the other hanging. An-Nisa-129
But if they separate (by divorce), Allah will provide abundance for every one of them from His Bounty. An-Nisa-130
Fear Allah and keep your duty to Him, An-Nisa-131
Whoever desires a reward in this life of the world, then with Allah is the reward of this worldly life and of the Hereafter. An-Nisa-134
Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor. An-Nisa-135
Give to the hypocrites the tidings that there is for them a painful torment. An-Nisa-138
When you hear the Verses of Allah being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them. An-Nisa-140
Take not for Auliya (protectors or helpers or friends) disbelievers instead of believers. Do you wish to offer Allah a manifest proof against yourselves? An-Nisa-144
